SANTA ANA is wellknown by its beautiful landscapes: wide and quiet beaches of soft and white sand, old aged trees of different species and many colourfull flowers.

 

It offers everything for a pleasant holiday: tennis, bycicles, horses, swiming, fishing, walking and good restaurants.

Only at 22 Km away from SANTA ANA there is the old city of COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO. It´s historical part was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage site in 1995. Here you can apreciate the Portuguese and Spanish influences in the identity of the city. In COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO you can find a large variety of restaurants, museums, uruguayan handicraft in linen, wool leather, ceramics, stone, wood, paper; also modern shops, bars and a casino. This region is also wellknown by its wines, cheeses and honey.

Near to SANTA ANA there are a various towns, characterized by the different cultural origins of their people: Nueva Helvecia: a taste of Switzerland in Uruguay, Colonia Valdense: known as "garden city"; Rosario: a combination of history, art and nature, enriched by the local hospitality; La Paz: center of the Agricultural Colonization; Juan Lacaze: with its beatiful port.

At only 10 km away from SANTA ANA there its the Farm and Museum Arenas  with its very interesting collections and delicius home-made sweets and marmalades which are sold there.

 

About 50 Km away from SANTA ANA there is the Natural Park Anchorena, currently the Presidential Resting Residence. It has a flora and fauna reserve of both native and exotic species. Among its buildings, are the Presidential Residence and magnificent tower of 75m hight, whose panoramic view reaches the city of Buenos Aires, It is a worth visiting site.
